Hogwarts Mascot Faceoff

Description

Four houses fighting for the title of the best. The four teams face off against each other numerous times over the school year. This is to analyze and judge which players will be selected for the end of the year all-star team, The Hogwarts Witch Kings, to play in the global tournament. The minimum representative from each house is 1 person! This is Hogwarts football!

Now for the preseason team analysis!!!

First up we have the Griffindor Crimson Lions. Just like the past few seasons it looks like Dumbledore will be coaching them. For the past century this team has been performing extremely poorly. Although this year it appears that Griffindor will have a chance in the upcoming games. Many promising new freshmen have been admitted to Griffindor. The player that everyone will be looking out for is the versatile Harry Potter! That's right, the same young man who survived an attack by you-know-who! Other players of interest are the Weasley brothers. It seems this year that they will be a complete set with the addition of their youngest brother, Ronald Weasley.

This reporter has dropped by to observe their practice and is not impressed SO FAR. Potter seems to be performing well but overall the whole team lacks in skill, HOWEVER they seem to make up for it with excellent teamwork. Despite that, their chances look grim and they are seriously the underdogs of this season (like the past hundred seasons) but we will see how this turns out for them. As of now, they rank 4th amongst the teams here and for the last 5 years only one person has been chosen from this team to be on the all-star team.

Next up we have the Slytherin Savage Serpents. This offensive team specializes in the running game, baffling their opponents with their running and weaving strategy! The Linemen and extra backs block the defense in odd patterns while the runner weaves around the field. A remarkable sight to behold! Although it seems that their strategy might be different this year. First off, Professor Severus will take over the coaching and it looks like the first year, Draco Malfoy, made starting quarterback. if he is anything like his father we are going to see some widely improved offense this season. Maneuvering the ball is a specialty of the Slytherin team and I'm personally looking forward to what this fresh new face has to offer. As of now, they are ranked 3rd amongst the houses.

Next we have the devious Ravenclaw Majestic Ravens. No team rivals them in terms of wit and cunning. Their specialties are trick plays. They are a super offensive team that relies mostly on their "stealth passes" and option pitches. The abilities of these players are only average but their tactics have taken them a long way and they have almost taken down the powerhouse, Hufflepuff numerous times in the past. Although it is also noteworthy that tricks and strategies can only take you so far. Ravenclaw comes out hard and usually pulls ahead of Hufflepuff but once Hufflepuff figures out how to counter, they completely wipe out the Majestic Ravens. Players of interest are the 4th year running back, Jonathan Underwood, the first year Anthony Goldstein and the freshman reciever, Skyye Eagleton. Second year female, Cho Chang, was also seen taking reps as a wide receiver but was immediately pulled after we started filming. This team is ranked 2nd. Fittingly, this team is coached by the shrewd Fillius Flitwick.

The final team we have are the Hufflepuff Mighty Badgers. This team has held the for 29 consecutive years. They wear down their opponents with their heavy defense. This is a hard hitting team on defense and a superb lead blocking game on offense. Their passing could use work though. One flaw with this team is their lack of teamwork, but they make up for it with the best and strongest individual players. This team has built a dynasty out of their name and I honestly don't see them falling anytime soon. The player to watch out for is the third year linebacker, Cedric Diggory. Of course this team is ranked number one. Their defense front is extremly sturdy thanks to the linemen.

Ok, back to my usual self, man that was alot of typing. anyway I was bored and I was thinking how Harry Potter would be if they played football instead of quiddtch and this is what I came up with. Unfortunately, I didnt know the ravenclaws mascot was an eagle. -_- I thought it was a RAVEN. If you want to see the jerseys its in my scraps. Another sloppy deviation but oh well.
